SHARING TIME
Sharing Time is a time devoted to learning about each other.
Sharing Time is also a good opportunity to establish classroom routines.
Teachers usually take attendance and assign jobs to student helpers.
Teachers also lead discussions, or ask questions about: feelings, weather, days, months,  seasons, home and school life.
 
THEME ACTIVITY
Theme Activity runs throughout the curriculum, providing a wealth of subject matter and
plenty to talk about. Theme activities provide students with vocabulary and general
knowledge about a subject: knowledge that can be developed to support the learning of a
specific language concept.

  
LANGUAGE ARTS
Language art activities are formal language lessons often accomplished or followed by a
worksheet. These lessons focus on specific language concept; with the goal of making
them part of the daily classroom routine.

 
HANDS ON ACTIVITIES
Hands On activities provide students with an opportunity to explore, discover, and create as  they develop skills in science, math, social studies and language.

 
STORY TIME
Stories and the interest they arouse, effectively set the stage for language learning. Story
time fosters in students, an appreciation for literature and the joy of reading.
Multi-cultural Education/Multi-lingual Education


 
COMPUTER CLASS
In addition in learning about computers in general, computer class develops a specific
language skill including: reading (phonetic awareness and word recognition), reading
comprehension and vocabulary.


 
MUSIC
Music develops pronunciation and introduces students to the rhythm of the American
language by exploring common phrases, expressing and enunciating speeches. Songs
are a great way to teach vocabulary and develop comprehension.

  
PHYSICAL EDUCATION (GYM)
The purpose of gym class is to ensure that students get proper exercise and to learn fair
play and sportsmanship. Some games will teach students to cooperate with their
classmates in a team environment and others will promote individual achievement.

 
FIELD TRIP
Field Trip time is a chance for students and teachers to study nature and the outdoors.

 
ARTS & CRAFTS
In addition to the vocabulary of making the language process, Arts and Crafts develops fine motor skills: cutting, gluing, coloring and assembling small parts, and also building
confidence in newly acquired abilities.

 
SHOW & TELL
Show & Tell time is a question and answer activity involving an item the student has brought from home. It is an important time for building confidence and for public speaking skills.

 
JOURNAL
Journal activities often combine writing, pictures, drawings, diagrams and labels. This
activity allows kids to give shape of their thoughts and personalizes their work to form an
important expression of their “own” experience.

      *Next two programs are applied from the second year kindergarten class.

 

CREATIVE ARTS
This class teaches the children how to approach different subjects from a variety of angles. This class is most often speaking games, story telling, art project and even performances.
By showing children how problems can be solved in many ways, they improve both their
vocabulary and their ability use that vocabulary creatively forming complex sentences.

CHARACTER EDUCATION
This is the forum in which the teachers are able to impart important values and guidelines to  the children. These values come from the specific teacher and our culture in general. This
class teaches the children how to discuss and comprehend values of safety and, important skills both in English and their lives.
